About Albuquerque: Albuquerque is the largest city in the state of New Mexico. Located in the central part of the state, it straddles the Rio Grande. The 2005 census reports the metropolitan population of Albuquerque as 797,940. Albuquerque is a fun city, with more entertainment than you might expect. Within Albuquerque and nearby are historical areas, Indian reservations, ski areas, a number of golf courses, casinos and a variety of interesting museums. Visitors to Albuquerque will find, in addition to a sunny and dry climate, fine hotels, bed and breakfast facilities, an active entertainment district, beautiful scenery, and typically, many different activities and events for both families and singles.

There is a certain dualism about the city. Its ancient Spanish and Indian history is mixed with a space age heritage and a sometimes rough western outpost background. Here, founders of our modern personal computer era toiled and invented amidst a backdrop of mysterious Indian pueblos. Dining in Albuquerque: Albuquerque is home to one of America's most unique and cherished regional cuisines, so it's no surprise that the food is one of the things that people remember most about a trip to New Mexico! New Mexican "comida" is based on native ingredients like corn, beans, squash and chiles, and incorporates Mexican, Native American and Spanish flavors. Chile is always the most important element. Activities in Albuquerque: OK, so balloons are fun and Albuquerque is the hot air balloon capital of the world. One can almost always find a balloon ride here, but there's a lot of other stuff to do too! All sorts of tours are available, and as truly one of the great wine districts of the southwest, tours and taste treats are an inviting diversion. Shopping is always fun, particularly in some of Albuquerque's historic districts such as Old Town. How about taking in an afternoon at an amusement park? And then there are participating sports: golf, bowling, skiing and everything in between. |

Night Life in Albuquerque: Something is always happening, be it a major concert, the symphony, a hot local band at a hot local night spot, or the action down at one of the casinos. Albuquerque just doesn't sleep very well early in the evening because there's always too much fun to be had. Sometimes its happening at a local park, the Hispanic Cultural Center, or even the Zoo, but one way or the other, night life is always on going in Albuquerque. |

General Entertainment: Whether day or night, or any season of the year, anyway you look at it, there is a lot to do in Albuquerque. From golf to snow skiing, various spectator sports, great musical concerts of every kind, theaters, Albuquerque is a fun place to visit, and a wonderful place to live. It seems like there is always something going on in the way of entertainment, so while there are great night life opportunities, one need not wait for the evening hours to enjoy the entertainment opertunities of Albuquerque. |
