About:
The Calaveras are back, but not to haunt. Instead, to play, make mischief and to call to memory family and friends that have passed on. Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is an ancient Mexican tradition that has been observed in Albuquerque’s South Valley through the Annual Marigold Parade and activities for over 14 years. The parade will travel north on Isleta to the West Side Community Center where music, entertainment, arts and crafts and altars can be enjoyed. Those who want to become part of the show should call ahead for entry forms and guidelines. The public is encouraged to come dressed as a skeleton paying tribute to their favorite dead person. NO BLOOD OR GORE, PLEASE. And, no Halloween costumes.
