Experience a fun-filled discovery of Native American cultures. Listen to Cherokee legends, see art created with porcupine quills, experience the colorful dances of Plains tribes, and join your family in an art making activity.

11:00 a.m. Storytelling in Special Events

Children’s book author Deborah Duvall and illustrator Murv Jacob will provide a lively reading in word and song from their selection of Cherokee legends.

12: 00 - 3:00 p.m. Artist Demonstration in North GalleryJerry Ingram (Choctaw/Cherokee) will demonstrate quilling, a traditional technique used by tribes in many regions of the United States.

1:00 -2:30 p.m. Family Art Activity in Museum School Participate in a drop in art activity led by an art instructor. Activities are appropriate for all ages and supplies are provided.

2:00 p.m. DANCE PERFORMANCE in Special Events

White Horse and Little Ponies Dance Group (Sioux/Santo Domingo/San Felipe) will perform a variety of Plains dances styles in colorful regalia.
