Historical Districts

Albuquerque is a historical city and so there are several historical districts in and near Albuquerque. There is, of course, Old Town in the city's heart, but also Tingly Beach and many other historical areas nearby.



Cultural Centers

Albuquerque has several major cultural centers, including the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. They provide a constant variety of events, activities, exhibits, lectures and films. Of course there are actually a number of others cultural centers, such as the South Broadway Cultural center.



Aquariums, Zoos, Wildlife and Botanical Parks

New Mexico itself sometimes seems like one large nature preserve, so it is not surprising that Albuquerque and the surrounding area has their own variety of of Aquariums, Zoos, Wildlife and Botanical Parks. Indeed, some facilities such as the BioPark are rather unique, and a worthwhile visit for residents as well as others visiting the city.



Museums

Albuquerque has a several major museums focusing on history, natural history, culture and art, but there is also a surprising and rich variety of specialized and even private museums, covering everything from ancient Indians to rattlesnakes to space flight, with a few fanciful trinkets thrown in for fun.
