JIM LAUDERDALE * THE TEXAS SAPPHIRES at The Cooperage
This show has been moved to The Cooperage.
Jim Lauderdale is a multi-talented performer and songwriter, with successes in both country and bluegrass music. His roots stem from the Carolinas, yet his career has taken him all over the United States and abroad, making him an international recording artist with an ever-growing fan base. He is among Nashville's "A" list of songwriters, with songs recorded by artists such as Patty Loveless, Dixie Chicks, Mark Chestnut, Vince Gill and George Strait. Jim's latest album, The Bluegrass Diaries, won this year's Grammy Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year. The Texas Sapphires are not your average country band. They blend their punk and country roots to play what they know best-a unique concoction of vintage hillbilly, honky-tonk, and rock and roll, with perfectly matched guy/gal vocals and energy-infused live shows. This Austin-based Country, Americana, Bluegrass band combines an old-time, classic mountain vibe with lyrics that give their tunes a modern edge.
Jim will come on at 7:30 and do a solo set. The Sapphires will come on afterwards and rock us into the night.
Tickets: $15 advance, $20 day of show Available at abqmusic.com, Bookworks and Natural Sound 21 and over (or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)
