Santa Ana Star Center

Welcome to the Santa Ana Star Center (SASC). This $47 million facility is a multi-functional arena with sound, lighting and concert-quality acoustics. The Event Center leads the field among venues in New Mexico and hosts concerts, sporting events, conferences, and cultural programs. With 165, 000 square feet of extended floor space, the Arena is ideally suited for large-scale performances. Equipped to accommodate any type of event, the SASC features a powerful delay speaker system that can enhance the sound of small stage productions. The technical expertise and dedication of the SASC staff ensures that audiences will be dazzled and entertained with shows they will never forget.

Any event is possible with the Arena's flexible setup, retractable seating, protective floor covering and in-house draping system all help to make every event the best it can be. Whether an intimate meeting, a large trade show, or a sellout concert, each event can expect the same professional service.

This multipurpose facility seats approximately 6,000 for hockey and rodeos and up to 7,500 for concerts.

The facility can also host boxing, basketball, motocross, ice shows, theatrical productions, to name a few. The SASC has 1,400 parking spaces, 500 club seats, 26 private luxury suites and was designed and built to meet all ADA specifications to accommodate our guests with disabilities.

The Event Center is located in Rio Rancho and is a main attraction for audiences of varying tastes and interests. It is strategically located approximately 10 miles from Albuquerque and 30 miles from the Sunport International Airport. The Santa Ana Star Center is home to the New Mexico Scorpions Hockey Team (Central Hockey League).

Facility Information

The Santa Ana Star Center is a major component of the City of Rio Rancho's new master planned downtown encompassing 160 acres. The facility features 26 luxury suites, 500 club seats, VIP lounge, club lounge and 4 club suites. This facility is truly “Multi-Purpose”, capable of hosting a variety of events ranging from trade shows, conventions, graduations, performing arts, concerts, sporting events, youth sports, thrill shows and family events.

Facility Rental

• VIP Lounges (club and suite, which hold between 40-60) $75 per hour or $500 for the day (7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)
• Conference Room (holds up to 20 people) $75 per hour or $500 for the day (7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)
• Birthday Party's - Upstairs Lounge area (Northwest corner of the building) $75 per hour includes visit from Area rental, visit from Stanley, & Happy Birthday of video board.
• All food and beverage must go through Boston Culinary (Patty McHale 891-7335). No outside food or beverage.
• Ice Time - $200 per hour (includes use of locker room).
