Sunshine Theater
Location(s)

The Sunshine Theater is a converted, historical movie theater that now provides for live musical concerts. There is also a bar (one the movie snackbar) that now serves adult beverages.
The whole interior has been opened up to allow throngs of fans to crowd inside to see live national touring acts such as Moby, Bo Diddley, Stanley Jordan, Brian Setzer, They Might Be Giants, Judas Priest, 311 and Dropkick Murphys, as well as frequent appearances by local and regional bands. Playing mostly alternative, punk, rock and pop, the theater features a dance floor and a small, busy bar. Many shows are all ages, but the 21-and-under crowd isn't allowed upstairs at the balcony bar. Variously described as "dumpy," "cool" and "the best place to see live bands in Albuquerque," the Sunshine has a well-earned reputation for serving up good music and a fun time.
